And there shall be no night there, and they need no candle neither light of the sun for the Lord God giveth them light and they shall reign for ever and ever. Rev. 22:5
I was talking with a student about the nature of the new Heaven and Earth and whether we would even have the sun. Rev. 22:5 says, we wont need it for light and we wont have night anymore. So maybe we wont have a sun but will we still need sunglasses and sunscreen or squint in the new light of the Lord?
Not needing the sun is a huge paradigm shift, but what is far more amazing is forever reigning. I can get my head around not using sunglasses or high beams, but reigning, that requires godly virtue and wisdom.
Is Verideia preparing future co-heirs with Christ to reign for ever and ever? If we can get our minds around not using sunscreen anymore, we need to be preparing students to be the servant leaders that will reign forever, even judging angels. Reigning forever with Christ seems too grand a proposition but this is precisely what we should be preparing for and what we are seeking to prepare VCCA students for. Are we preparing day and night for the day there is no night?
