In our rapid paced society, we tend to know ourselves and others at a superficial level. This is safe and dangerous at the same time. Jesus knows us full well and we ought to know ourselves better which can help us relate in a more significant way with those around us.
I would recommend you read books like, Personality Plus and Positive Personality Profiles. This getting to know thyself can help you understand many of the friction points in your life. Jesus doesn’t want us to play it safe. He wants us rather, to know ourselves and be a blessing to others by investing in truly getting to know them.
