Graduation day is fast approaching. A milestone for those transitioning to high school or beyond. Looking forward to the next opportunity is a special part of life. So why are many young people in despair often wasting their life or ending it? What is it about our Canadian Progressive Paideia that makes life seem not worth living?
“Life is a journey, not a home; a road, not a city of habitation; and the enjoyments and blessings we have are but little inns on the roadside of life, where we may with new strength press on to the end – to the rest that remaineth for the people of God.
‘Tis not for man to trifle; life is brief, and sin is here. We have no time to sport away the hours; all must be earnest in a world like ours.”
– Bonar
Devoid of an ultimate destination and in the absence of future judgment or rewards it is easy to understand the malaise and despair of so many. Combine this with the waves of angry woke justice mobs who constantly move their own goal posts of virtue, and you manufacture the civil unrest the elites have long planned for. But when you contrast this with the Hope, Peace and Love which grounds the life of a Christian and you will see why we must be the salt and light our society needs.
Pray that our VCCA graduates will be salty salt and brilliant light because they know sin is here, that life is a journey and there is a rest that remaineth for the people of God.
