Our chapel schedule is wrapping up with the 7th ‘C’ of History, Consummation.

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”
– Revelation 21:1

The world around us screams “not very good.” Sin and the curse which accompanies sin has resulted in a not very good world. Sin, death and a not very good environment and not very good hearts should cause us all to long for the consummation of all things, that promise of the restoration, a going back to the very good. Let’s consider the contrast.

New Heavens and Earth
No tears
No pain/suffering
No death
No need for sun/moon to provide light
Day only
Righteousness will dwell there
No more curse of sin
Complete health

Present Heavens and Earth
Tears
Pain/suffering
Death
Sun/moon provides light
Day and night
Sin is rampant now
Under the curse of sin
Disease and sickness

Without God’s Word there would be no expectation for the consummation of all things and a very good eternal glorious life in the new heaven and earth. Discuss with your children your hope for the very good to come, purchased and guaranteed by the suffering Saviour, now reigning King.
