My wife and I enjoyed the screening of a new film in theatres called War Room. This is a Christian production from the makers of Facing the Giants and Fireproof. The theme of the film was the power of prayer and the importance it should play in our lives. I appreciate the biblical imagery of war because we all need to be reminded of the battle we as Christians are engaged in. This battle is primarily with satanic forces and the lies and deception they use to attack. Most Christians know there is a battle raging but too few of us apply the LORD’s battle strategy to ensure victory.
When I think about my lack of prayer, it is often connected to a lack of fear and love of God. If I really believe that God is all powerful, it makes sense, I would pray more. If I knew better His love for me and His Church I would pray more. So in light of who God is, why don’t we pray more? Interestingly the more we pray the more we will know God’s power and His love for us.
“For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which He saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore, I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:23-24.
