We are pleased to announce our school’s new name. Drum roll please… Verideia Classical Christian Academy! Dat…Dat…Data…Daah! After 32 years being known as Fellowship Christian School the members have voted and our new name is Verideia Classical Christian Academy. Verideia (Ver-i-da`-a) is a coined word combining the Latin word for truth, ‘Veritas’ with the Greek word for training/nurture ‘Paideia’. Our desire in changing the school name is to better brand our school as a classical Christian school and so differentiate ourselves from our previous pedagogical approach. This will also help us engage in the conversation regarding how and why we are unique compared to the other Christian school models currently represented in the KW Region.
We are excited about the marketing opportunities our new name will allow as we share the great benefits derived from attending a classical Christian school. Since making these changes seven years ago, three new classical Christian schools have sprung up in Southern Ontario with another planned to start September 2020 in the St. Jacobs / Heidelberg area. We pray that God uses Verideia Classical Christian Academy to truly foster in families a love for virtue and wisdom as we help disciple the next generation of Christ Ambassadors. Just as God gave new names to His servants when He changed their roles, God has given His school here in Kitchener a new name as He calls us to a new role in His kingdom.
