Welcome back VCCA returning families, also greetings and welcome to this year’s eighteen new families. Our large jump in enrolment is due in large part to more obvious shifts in state-controlled education. Progressive gender ideology is one of those obvious shifts many parents have concerns with. Years ago, parent-controlled schools like VCCA were started in large part to mitigate the harm of the secular humanistic ideologies of the day and for some reason parents are once again seeking a departure from state- controlled indoctrination. Why Christian parents would ever, in the first place, have anything to do with a child forming endeavor that is hostile to the lordship of Jesus Christ is a question we could explore at another time.
With parent-controlled child formation on the rise, it is my prayer that the flight away from satanic indoctrination would transition to a wholesale pursuit of a God exulting, Christ adoring, Spirit transforming scripture informing, whole-child conforming to the
image of Jesus. This necessary shift from a running from to a running to is what God has called all of us to as we take up our crosses and follow the Good Shepherd. The renewing of our minds by the washing of the Word will change our affections for the things above such that running from evil will be overwhelmed by a pursuit of holiness. So, with renewed vigor, let this year be our all-out run to King Jesus.
