During an evening ‘walk and roll’ with Mrs. Long on Monday, I was struck by how few people were out on the downtown bike paths. Have you ever been struck with the contrast between the ‘401 like’ wide path that leads to destruction and the narrow path that leads to life?
In the realm of education, despite the rise in homeschooling and the many new start up Classical Christian schools in Ontario, I more than ever consider that we who are a part of VCCA are those who have entered in at the strait gate and are on the narrow path which leadeth to life and few there be that find it.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat; Because strait is the gate and narrow is the way, which leadeth to life, and few there be that find it.”
Matthew 7:13-14
This year’s chapel focus is the Fruit of the Spirit. Only those who have entered in at the strait gate, walking the narrow way, will bear this fruit. Therefore, the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ will be front and centre as we endeavor to walk the narrow way. Pray that each VCCA student would do their own fruit check and see their need to be born again of the Spirit and then never lose heart when the masses are clogging up the 401 because our pilgrimage on the narrow way is what actually leads to life.
