VCCA staff and students have been labouring long and hard preparing for this year’s Spring Musical entitled Father’s Prayers. This glimpse into the life of George Mueller (1805-1898) through song and acting will be an encouragement to all.
George Mueller is a hero of the faith, a saved sinner committed to praying to a faithful God who delights to provide for His people. During his ministry over 10,000 orphans were cared for. He established 117 Christian schools that shaped more than 120,000 students. In his 70’s he began travelling the world as an evangelist preaching the gospel of Christ. George Mueller claims that 30,000 answers to prayer were answered the very day they were made. Wow!
The ministry of George Mueller reminds me of Jesus’ words to His disciples in the Gospel of Matthew.
If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to thither; to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Matthew 17:20
Our lack of believing prayer, not God’s unfaithfulness, is exposed by Scriptures such as these and testimonies of those who walked according to these timeless truths. My understanding of God’s character is changed by powerful accounts of answered prayer and fresh conviction of my unbelief is heightened by my prayerlessness in comparison.
When you see a need like George Mueller did, be bold and take the first step, the step of prayer, and believe 30,000 same day answers are in store.
