As we approach the end of the school year, I am very grateful to God for sustaining the ministry of this school which I anticipate in the days ahead will be increasingly vilified by the world. The more the world says VCCA is a wicked indoctrination centre for our allegiance to the authority of God’s Word, the more we can count it all joy to suffer for righteousness’ sake. This morning in our staff devotions a reading of a puritan prayer thanked God for the sanctifying effect that God’s judgment on others can produce in us. The celebrations during the month of June ought to fan the flame of our fear of God and correspondingly for our growth in holiness.
If Christians continue to retreat into their holy huddles our march toward communism will accelerate and the church will soon be taking notes from our brothers and sisters in China. How did Canada so rapidly change? How did Canada shift from a culture of life and freedom to one of death and slavery?
Canadians originally functioned within a Christian framework, later we transitioned to a ‘neutral framework and now we are well on our way to a state-controlled framework.
A fatal flaw that led to the first transition was the belief in ‘neutrality’. If Christians had recognized the myth of neutrality from the start, a better case could have been made against a ‘neutral’ state because in reality it would have been more accurately a shift from a system where rights and identity are given by God; to a system where rights and identity are given by man. From a system where truth, morals, and virtue stem from the Creator to a system where truth, morals, and virtue stem from the men in power.
Jesus said that you are either for Him or against Him. Therefore, there is no such thing as neutrality. The battle of ideas must start with a battle of worldviews and the battle of worldviews is built on our presuppositions, so examine if your presuppositions destroy themselves or can support themselves and when you are done all that prep work you should arrive back at Jesus who is the way, the truth, and the life.
