At Verideia Academy one of our goals for graduates is for them to live their lives according to the truth of
God’s Word. As Christians who operate from a biblical world and life view, we operate with a morality based on the unchanging character of God and corresponding right affections for the good the true and the beautiful. In contrast, a Pagan’s virtue stems from their changing feelings within an often changing woke virtue paradigm. Let’s consider a couple of examples of this virtue variability. My body my choice applies to the absolute right to murder your unborn baby but not for refusing experimental gene therapies. Political protests are valid in China against government Covid restrictions and for BLM protests but not in Canada if it’s protesting medical coercion and the taking away of Charter Rights and Freedoms. (Role out the War Measures Act) Massive carbon footprints are just fine for the elite but unforgivable for the middle class. If I get caught printing fiat currency in my basement, I go to jail but when governments do it, they are given full approval. Double standards, hypocrisy, or “do as I say, not as I do” all which from a Christian perspective are wrong, are apparently par for the course in a fluid and flexible virtue paradigm where those in power no matter how evil their behavior seems, it is for them and their mass followers mega virtuous behaviour.

In this war over what virtue paradigm should be used you will inevitably get some name calling with an accompanying smear campaign. Remember when millions of Freedom Convoy supporters were labeled a Fringe Minority, spreading dangerous disinformation and misinformation.

In God’s economy where absolute truth is part and parcel of His very character and where God does not lie or flip flop, the ‘fringe minority’ are just the people God delights to use for His glory in order to show
Himself strong in our weakness. Whether it is the remnant amongst the nation of Israel, the 7000 who did not bow the knee to Baal, or the leaven in the dough, God uses the weak, the small in number, often the ‘fringe minority’ to expand His Kingdom. May God give us eyes of faith to see His beauty and strength in using what the world sees as the ‘fringe minority’ to impact this rebellious world for Christ.
