Life is God given so life is worth living. Depending on your perspective, your zest for living can vary. Some worship self and have a zest for pleasure. Others worship God and have a zest to bring Him glory. Others may even be losing their zest for living. Remembering our identity in Christ will reignite our passion to serve others which glorifies God and makes a huge difference in the lives of others.
Is life worth living? Yes so long
As there is wrong to right,
Wail of the weak against the strong,
Or tyranny to fight;
Long as there lingers gloom to chase,
Or streaming tear to dry,
One kindred woe, one sorrowing face
That smiles as we draw nigh;
Long as tale of anguish swells
The heart, and lids grow wet,
And at the sound of Christmas bells
We pardon and forget;
So long as Faith with Freedom reigns,
And loyalty Hope survives,
And gracious Charity remains
To leaven lowly lives;
While there is one untrodden tract
For Intellect or Will,
And men are free to think and act
Life is worth living still.
Alfred Austin
Think of life as the epic battle of good and evil that it is. The wounds incurred amid the fight will in the perspective of eternity be considered light and momentary and even precious evidences of courageous living. In light of a life worth living, talk with your children about why you are looking forward to the words of Jesus, Well done my good and faithful servant.
