Lutheran Churches may not hold many of the same convictions their founder held nor may other Protestants for that matter, particularly, in regards to his beliefs about education. Just think, when was the last time you heard another pastor declare our public school to be the great gates of hell even with our 21st century 20/20 vision witnessing firsthand the mass exodus of students from the faith of their parents as proof of Luther’s warning.
I view the conscious and subconscious enculturation that takes place at FCS as counter formative, reversing the shaping effect of our dominant, secular culture. Christian education is missional in nature whether or not our students come from Christian or non-Christian homes.

The last thing we want to give the next generation is a false sense of security, believing that they can safely disregard God (atheism). The cross of Christ paints a different story, a glorious one where, when we correctly regard God and his holy hatred of sin, the work of Christ looms large and it becomes as it truly is the most awesome event in all of History.
