Definition of Dumb – to be silent, to continue or be permanent, to appease, to quiet, mute, silent, not speaking.
“I was dumb with silence, I even held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.”
Psalm 39:2
As Mrs. Long and I watched the newly released Bonhoffer film, we were reminded of the devastation which can result from the silence of the church. This devastation is as old as when Adam remained dumb while the subtle serpent questioned the Word and character of Elohim. The dumb church’s fear to speak against sin and idolatry is a sad indictment of the church’s lack of boldness and courage while fearing man more than God.
One could argue that the Church in Canada is the poster child of a dumb church. The church remained dumb, relinquishing educational responsibility of children to the state. The church remained dumb to the protection of children in the womb resulting in Canada leading the world in child sacrifice. Whether it is human life at the start or near the end, M.A.i.D. accentuates Canada’s culture of death.
The Canadian church remains dumb and thus endorsing broad scale theft from tax payers and subsequent generations through rampant money printing and foreign aid. The dumb church even attacks the nuclear family by remaining silent about the evils of state childcare plans, incentivizing dual income families.
Pray that we the church would find Her voice and speak against the evils of our day. That she would so fear the LORD that no fear of man would remain. Pray that the Adamic mandate to have dominion over creation would start by a God-fearing church tearing down today’s High Places of idolatry.
